PreTeXt reports to two audiences—the author or publisher running a conversion, and the developer maintaining PreTeXt—through a single stream of messages. Every message carries a severity that says what happened and who should act. This chapter fixes the vocabulary, so that when you write a message you never have to wonder which one to reach for.
